Receiving gifts from my professor for being a good student was so unexpected and thrilling. I received a beautiful diary, an adorable table lamp and a very informative book. After receiving them, I found myself reflecting on how it all began, how I started writing, how I began publishing and everything that has been adding value to my life now. It all traced back to the same professor who started a blogging challenge that inspired me to write, who guided me when I wanted to publish and who supported me in academics.
Recently, he also gave me the opportunity to interview Dr. Renee Scherlen and Dr. Philip J. Ardoin from Appalachian State University, North Carolina, which was a wonderful experience.
Coming back to it, sometimes it is not just about you but about the people around you. If it were not for my professor, I would not be a writer today. Some people are like that, they come into your life and guide you without any conditions. But our effort towards it also matters.
When he gave me the presents, he said the lamp represents my bright shining future, the diary is to help me improve my writing skills every day and that he really liked the book so he gifted it to his student.
I am more than grateful to have such a wonderful person as my professor.
