Chapter 49 : My Love for music



 Music has been my biggest companion when I am happy, sad, overwhelmed, or angry. It calms my nerves and makes me forget my stressful moments. From as far back as I can remember, music has been a source of comfort and escape. It has this incredible ability to take me away from the present moment, especially when I feel like the world around me is too much to handle.


During moments of happiness, music amplifies my joy. I love putting on a playlist full of my favorite upbeat songs when I’m feeling carefree. It feels like those melodies lift my mood even higher, turning an ordinary moment into something memorable. Whether it’s dancing around in my room or singing along to a catchy chorus, music has this way of elevating my good times. I have an eye for the lyrics as well. I tend to search for up for the meanings of the songs that I listen to if its a language that I don't quite understand. 


On the flip side, music has also been my refuge when I’m feeling down. When I’m sad or hurt, I often find myself turning to slower, softer songs. There's something comforting about hearing lyrics that resonate with my feelings, like someone else understands exactly what I'm going through. It’s almost like the music is telling me that it’s okay to feel, that I’m not alone in my emotions. It helps me process my sadness and reminds me that it's temporary, that better days will come. Some songs make me realise that struggles are just a part of our lives and that I need to move on.


When I’m overwhelmed, which happens often with the pressures of future and career, music is my escape. Whether it's the endless options, internships, courses, to-do lists, assignments, or the weight of balancing everything, music allows me to take a breather. Just a few minutes of listening to a song can clear my mind and help me refocus. It feels like my personal reset button, giving me space to step back, breathe, and regain control.


And then there are times when I’m angry. Music helps me channel that energy. Instead of letting the anger simmer inside, I put on something loud, with intense beats or strong lyrics. It’s almost like the music is releasing that tension for me. By the time the song is over, I usually feel calmer, more grounded, and ready to face whatever it was that upset me.


In every emotion, every state of mind, music is there. It’s been more than just a hobby or background noise; it’s been a tool for me to connect with my emotions and manage the chaos of life. It allows me to experience my feelings fully while also giving me the space to let go of them when I need to.


Over time, I’ve realized that music is more than just entertainment. It’s therapy, a constant companion that helps me navigate the highs and lows of life. Whether I’m feeling ecstatic or lost, music gives me a way to express and understand my emotions, making everything a little easier to handle.
