Chapter 8: I trust you!

"To be trusted is a greater compliment than being loved" _George Mac Donald.

Trust is a deeply beautiful word for an emotion that involves two people bound together by a silent agreement to open their hearts and be vulnerable, showing their true selves. We might say "I love you" to every person we are friends with, but saying "I trust you" is something different. It is more divine and bonded by an unseen thread. Trust shows us how to walk in somebody's shoes and be empathetic.

To me, personally, trust is more than just an expression. When you give a piece of yourself to another person, you accept them and believe that they will take care of it without misusing it, which requires a kind of acceptance that is immense. Trust also requires respect. Knowing a person deeply shows their true side; no matter what they are going through, you must be able to respect them and comfort them through their dark times.

Trust is earned over time, through countless memories and honesty. I trust my family and a few of my friends, which makes me open up about my fears, my imperfections, or my dreams to them without being scared of being judged or rejected.

Trust has its own negative side to it. Trusting a person means taking a risk and accepting the possibility of being betrayed. The ones you trust the most today might end up being your biggest enemies tomorrow. Having your personal information will not help the situation but make it worse. We have all been betrayed at least once in life, and that experience teaches us not to trust any person easily. Trust is not blind faith, but a conscious decision to believe in someone.

A person once said, "Trust takes years to build, seconds to break, and forever to repair." Once trust is broken, it is broken. No matter how hard you try to fix it, it can never be what it was before it was broken. When you are in a situation where you fight or have a misunderstanding with someone close, never use their personal information or what they trusted you with against them, no matter what. That shows your personality. No matter what, you should be in a position to keep the information to yourself and not take advantage of it. A broken vase can be fixed, but it cannot be as strong as it was before being broken.

Trust is the foundation of all meaningful relationships that requires both courage and vulnerability. It is through trust that we truly learn to love and be loved. If I say "I trust you" to you. That means you are so precious to me and I will treasure with my whole heart and be there for you through your ups and downs in your life :)

Chapter 1: Embracing Self Awareness

Let me begin my first blog with a quote, " Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom"- Aristotle I am Alena, I am a normal girl with ordinary talents. If that is the way I introduce myself, what makes me different and what makes me unique?  Most of the people including myself, become insecure and shy away from challenges life has in store because of not being self-aware of their potential. Self awareness plays a major role in personal growth and well being of a person. We need to understand and keep track of our strengths and weaknesses. Our strength could end up turning into our weakness and our weakness could end up being our strength later. An example from my life: In school, I had a hard time making friends which I considered as a flaw, In college I don't find that as an issue which ends up being my strength. I remember starting a personal diary to jot down my emotions and instead of writing what I truly felt, I wrote as if somebody would read it. That is not th...

Book review - Red Verses.

This is a personal book review of Red Verses by Pearlina Gracelyn. Pearlina is my best friend, but did I truly know how deep her thoughts ran? No. While reading this book, it felt as if I was not just turning the pages but unveiling the chapters of her life. It’s raw, real, and straight from her heart, something you can feel with every word. The words are beautifully yet simply crafted, resonating deeply with the reader. This is not just a collection of poems but an outpouring of emotions printed onto paper. I could sense how much courage and vulnerability it must have taken for her to write these pieces, and that makes the book even more profound. I don’t know if it was mere coincidence, but I truly loved how the poem "My Wedding Day" ended with the verse "As husband and wife." That single line, placed on a separate page, made it so much more impactful. The simplicity of dedicating one page to such a significant line brought out the true essence of the poem’s subje...
